GATE GOURMET

As a complement of my degree project, I worked for aproximately one semestre at Gate Gourmet Colombia Ltda.; Gate Gourmet is one of the most important air catering company of the world.

Here you will find some of the projects developed while I worked there...

The first one: the bridges. The main objective was to think about somehing that assured that the aircraft loading process was safe- The trolleys have to be transported from the truck to the airplane and viceversa... rapidly; sometimes these situations exposes the personnel into jeopardy.

The second one: sauces dispenser. What was happening? The dispensers they were using had some failures that needed to be corrected: a very difficult sauce realoading, non-reusable, without any control devices, generated a very stressing activity, and many more. This was the alternative solution...

The third one: a different use for trolley. The situation: many registration forms (used for registering different activities) were disappearing, supposedly because of the disorder. The solution: presenting a simple idea, the cheapest as possible, that made the filing process more organized.

The fourth one: cleaning tools container. We wanted to create something useful for keeping the cleaning tools organized and away from the food.

The fifth one: lecterns. The current lecterns, used for keeping all the information necessary for making up all the dishes, were failing: some parts were not manufactured with stainless steel; the ringing system (for keeping the information organized) was destroying the folders where the informations was kept, and many more. This was the solution.

The sixth one: recycling area. The recycling area of the facility needed to be re-organized; some vehicles needed to be designed in order to help with the recycling process...
